All data was collected using a swing robot. 12 new balls were hit in each set up condition. In order to minimize weather variation (such as wind), each golf ball type was rotated after 3 hits and all balls were cycled through each test set 4 times (3 hits x 4 rotations equals 12 total hits with each ball type). Performance data from all shots during the test were collected using both Trackman and Foresight.
Trackman - Radar tracking system set up measuring the full ball flight with actual measured carry distance and modeled estimated roll distances. Since this data includes full flight tracking, some variation exists due to random wind conditions. Wind conditions were mild and balls type were rotated every 3 hits to minimize any impact of wind on the overall average results.
Foresight- High speed camera based system that measures initial launch conditions and predicts ball flight, carry and roll distances using Foresight's proprietary golf ball flight and roll model. Since this data uses initial conditions to predict the ball flight, it eliminates any variation caused by wind.
